Teen Forester

Teen Forester is the next step in a preteen/teen’s outdoor journey. At this age, participants move beyond simply exploring nature and start building a deeper, lasting relationship with the forest itself.
Inspired by the medieval foresters who knew and cared for their lands, this program invites participants to become both students and stewards of the forest. They’ll learn how the forest works, develop a sense of responsibility for the land, and gain the confidence to share what they know with others.
No two days in the woods will look exactly the same. Participants might take on a forest service project to assist Triangle Land Conservancy, help prepare for upcoming Nature Explorers programs by building forest structures or scouting new spots, expand their knowledge of local plants and animals, or continue their whittling journey. There will also be plenty of time for roaming, exploring, and hopefully making some great new friends.
Drop off 8:45-9:00am Pick up 5:00-5:15pm
PLEASE NOTE: We will adventure rain or shine. Please plan to drop off your children with appropriate gear for the weather (rain gear for rainy days; hats, gloves, and warm coats for cold days, creek gear for hot days). We will only cancel if there is severe weather (i.e., tornadoes, blizzards) in the forecast.
